The site features the typical hilly and landscape texture of southern Henan, with mountain terrain extending from the northern foot vein of the Dabie Mountains.Carpenter Zhang’s residence stands at the village entrance, built in harmony with the natural mountain terrain. To the south of his self-built three-story house lies the original woodworking shed. The site is embraced by hills on the east, adjacent to village dwellings on the south, and sheltered by the village health center building on the west. It forms an introverted and tranquil precinct.This inspires the design concept: the new workshop shall follow the mountain context, take natural texture as the base, reconcile the height difference of the site, and achieve a natural transition from the mountain hinterland to the village front road.
