Rooted on the field of medical architecture, a local institute with technical strength, Zhejiang province institute of architectural design and research (Dept.6) is committed to providing excellent service for high-end clients. To offer the this concise and dynamic hospital, our institute has been working cohesively with The Stomatology Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine over the past five years.

该项目（浙江大学医学院附属口腔医院项目）位于杭州市核心地段，秋石高架沿线，毗邻浙江大学华家池校区旧址。51649平方米的总建筑面积中包含床位98个，牙椅330张；是集临床医疗、科研教学、预防保健于一体的，国内一流的三级甲等专科医院。

This project is located in the core area of Hangzhou, along Qiushi viaduct, adjacent to the former site of Huajiachi campus of Zhejiang University. The 51649 square meters hospital includes 98-beds and 330-dental chairs, which is a prestigious specialized hospital in domestic, a complex for clinical medical treatment, scientific research and health care.

我们怀抱谦逊的态度，介入建筑与场地的微妙平衡，思考如何将限制条件有机地转化为设计源泉。在狭长的南北向地块上，建筑体量顺应地形，沿着主要城市界面（秋石高架）连续展开；体量高度和长度上的推敲与平衡，减少了对原有住区在高度上的压迫。建筑北面的上端部分向高架一侧错动，退让出更大的空间间距，使现有住宅获得更加充足的日照。建筑南面的底端部分同样向高架侧错动，使南面主入口拥有更充裕的开敞空间。建筑体量的细致打磨为其外观赋予了精密而流畅的质感，随着行人、车辆的移动产生动态的视觉效果与富于韵律的节奏变化。

With the notion of transforming constraints into design source，we took a delicate balance into the correlationship between architecture and site with humble attitude. On this narrow block, the building volume curving along to the terrain form north to south，facing the mian urban interface. Over repeated consideration and deduction on the balance of the height and length, the building volume reduced the oppress of height on the original residential area. By staggering the upper part of the building toward the Qiushi viaduct，on north-side，the residential building can get more sufficient sunshine. Also，through staggering the bottom part of the building，on south-side，created much more abundant open space for the main entrance. The elaborately polished building volume gives a delicate and smooth image to public, the appearance of which was rich in rhythmic shift, producing dynamic visual effects with the changing perspectives of the moving pedestrians and vehicles.

为了抵御建筑南北向布局对室内光环境的不利影响，技术上我们在横向内遮阳的基础上增加了竖向遮阳板。遮阳板不仅用于阻挡侧向采光带来的眩光、吸收夏季热辐射，而且可以有效削弱高架车流的噪音干扰。我们期望赋予技术更加细腻，深层次的人文内涵。在最初设计的构思中，我们尝试将承载浙江大学深厚学术底蕴的“红砖建筑”进行现代主义的转换与诠释，探索了色彩语义的提炼与再现。

In order to resist the adverse impact of the North-South layout of the building on the indoor light environment, technically, we have added a vertical sunshade on the basis of horizontal internal sunshade. The sun visor is not only used to block the glare caused by lateral daylighting and absorb summer heat radiation, but also can effectively weaken the noise interference of elevated traffic flow. We expect to endow technology with more delicate and deep-seated humanistic connotation. In the initial design, we tried to carry out Modernist Transformation and interpretation of the "red brick architecture" bearing the profound academic heritage of Zhejiang University, and explored the refinement and reproduction of color semantics.

为了使建筑和谐地融于场所，最终的建筑形象延续了口腔医院标识中的“蓝色”，以期向社会公众传递医院严谨与沉稳的价值内涵。蓝色与洁净的白色相互融合、渐变、流动，则展现了医院时尚、创新的专业形象。

In order to dissolve the building into the context harmoniously, the final architectural image continues the “blue” originated from the logo, conveying the connotation of the hospital to the public, rigorous and calm.The Blending, shifting and flowing of blue and white show a fashionable and professional image of the hospital.

建筑功能布局简洁明确，流线组织清晰。医生与患者的通道相互独立，并分设电梯。患者通过门诊主通道的竖向交通与各楼层便捷联系；医护与行政员工配有直达办公区域地独立电梯，患者与医生仅在诊疗空间进行面对面的接触。

The configuration of building complex is simple, with clear visiting path for staff and clients. The passages(corridor,stair,elevators) for doctors and patients were strictly separated. In the lobby,Patients can conveniently reach each floor through the elevators. Medical area and administrative area were equipped with independent elevators, for doctors and staffs ’directly using. The face-to-face contact of patients and doctors only occur in the diagnosis space.

我们用清晰的逻辑理性地架构医疗功能，同时也注重室内空间的感性关怀。室内温馨的整体色调配合的浅蓝色点缀，在为病患提供了便捷高效的服务的同时，创造了舒适温馨的就诊空间。

Clear logic was used to frame the medical functioning, the perceptual care of indoor space was also stressed. Warm-color atmosphere combined with light-blue decoration, the architecture not only provides convenient and efficient services for patients, but also creates a cozy and therapeutic space for treatment.
